Department of Surface Water Quality

In the frame of surface water quality monitoring and assessment are performed operational, reserach - developmental and international activities.
All activities are carried out in accordance with the Act No 364/2004 Coll. (Water act), Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) and other legislative regulations valid for water sector.
The surface water quality department fulfills the main following tasks:

• Surface water quality monitoring, data processing and outputs preparation
• Water balance of surface water quality
• Assessment and expertise reports
• Implementation of Water Framework Directive (WFD)
• Reporting Commitment in Slovakia
• Plant protection products expertises on fate and behaviour in water environment in frame of registration process in Slovak Republic
   
• Central Water Register
•  National Register of Pollution and  Integrated Prevention Pollution Control of the Environment
